THIS DOESN'T FOLLOW BEST PRACTICES
Growing up in Rust Belt corn country, there comes a point you plot your escape. You can't drive yet, so you turn to books (and the occasional family trip) to gtfo. You get hooked on those books. Hormones, a run-in with a spitting cobra, and car keys later, writing becomes a secret venting space (see: queer repression).
Skipping to Chapter 18 "Senior Year," your Brit Lit teacher lauds your words after she annihilates your first two papers (you deserved it). That, combined with IFC films and music videos, fills you with delusions of grandeur, so you go to university for creative writing during the Recession. Your dad says maybe you should go into advertising instead of relying on creative writing for a job, so you apply to switch colleges while you're off in Denmark. So you get into advertising...
Now, I'm here slinging creative + wizarding words across NY and LA in the advertising industry—conceptualizing, telling human brand narratives, building content and experiences, connecting with consumers and the people around me. Thanks, dad.
Some brands I've worked on: AMEX, Verizon, William Grant & Sons' portfolio, TRESemme, Love Beauty & Planet, Cole Haan, Dove Men, Urban Decay, Bud Light, Tazo, Google, Bumble Bee Seafoods, NOS Energy, Full Throttle, The Bouqs, Grey Goose, Patron, and Miss Grass.
Congrats on making it through that very abridged rendition of my journey so far. If you have a good story, need an ear, a business to grow, brand to develop, or need a poem for a crush, reach out anytime.
Ciao for now,
Noah
